The American College of Physicians recommends drug-free treatments such as yoga, massage, and acupuncture to fight low back pain, not narcotics. Low back pain is one of the most common reasons patients go to the doctor. 
 
A new study suggested aggressively targeting high blood pressure may help save more than 100,000 lives every year. Researchers in Utah recommend lowering blood pressure levels from 140 to less than 120 to help prevent heart attacks and strokes in people at high risk. 
 
Stronger alcohol policies help protect against drunk driving deaths among young people, according to researchers at Boston medical center. They found tougher state laws cut the risk of death and led to less alcohol consumption overall.
