Giving babies eggs and peanuts at an early age may lower their chances of developing food allergies. A study in JAMA has found that the risk of allergies is linked to when allergic foods are introduced.
There is no link between the so called obesity gene and a person’s ability to lose weight, according to a team of international researchers who looked at studies involving thousands of people. They found even though people with the gene are heavier at the start, they responded the same to diet and exercise.
Wearable devices that monitor physical exercise and diet may not improve weight loss. A University of Pittsburgh study has shown that patients who used technology lost less weight than those on standard weight loss programs.
