Doctors in hospitals are not prescribing fewer antibiotics despite a push to reign in antibiotic use and avoid super bacteria. Researchers reviewed files from more than 34 million patients over a six year period. They found antibiotic use did not change significantly and that prescriptions actually increased for powerful antibiotics, which are often used as a last resort.

The Food and Drug Administration has tentatively granted accelerated approval to the first drug for muscular dystrophy. The medication, which is called Exondys 51, treats patients with a rare form of muscular dystrophy.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is no longer warning pregnant women to stay away from a one square mile section of Miami over Zika fears. Now the government is recommending pregnant women and partners avoid mosquito bites instead of avoiding the Wynwood neighborhood all together.
