A new study urged parents of autistic children to teach their kids to swim as early as possible. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children on the spectrum, 160-times more likely than their peers without autism. Research at Columbia University found that overall, people with autism are three times more likely to die from injuries than the general population.

New research found teenagers need to put down their screens and get some exercise.  Doctors said adolescents need physical activity to develop bone strength during growth spurts. In a study of hundreds of teenagers, those who participated in moderate to intense exercise had greater bone mass that led to superior bone strength.

When adults start losing their sense of smell it could be a sign of bigger health risks. A study in a geriatrics journal followed nearly 2,000 people over the age of 40. Those who lost their sense of smell were at a 19-percent higher risk of early death.
