There’s a new warning about combining prescription painkillers and anti-anxiety medications. A study in the British Medical Journal found taking opioids with benzodiazepine anxiety drugs is linked to a higher risk of opioid overdose.
Many older, early-stage breast cancer patients may be receiving more radiation than they need, increasing treatment and health costs, according to a new study from Duke University Medical Center. Previous research shows these women can often safely have four weeks of radiation instead of the usual six weeks.
Just because a product says low fat or low sugar may not mean it’s healthier. Researchers in North Carolina looked at 80 million purchases and said consumers should be cautious when labels say “low” because there are no standards on what “low” really means.
