North America has the world’s highest rates of anxiety– double the global average, according to a review of research by the University of Cambridge. Anxiety disorders are nearly twice as common in women as men and disproportionately affect those under age 35.

Overweight children do not eat more often, they eat more at each meal. New data on the cause of obesity was collected in a British survey of children, 4-months-old to 18-months-old. Heavy children in the study ate with the same frequency and ate the same types of food but had an extra bite or two at each meal.

Young Hispanic and African American cancer patients are nearly 75% more likely to die from some forms of the disease than white patients. A University of Colorado study found the differences were only partially explained by economic disparities and said more research on the cause of the difference is needed.
