Women who develop gestational diabetes during pregnancy are at greater risk for high blood pressure later in life. But research in the journal Hypertension has found that a healthy diet can reduce that risk by 20%. That includes eating more fruits, vegetables and whole grains and less red meat and salt.

A new study has found that the latest vaccine against human papillomavirus could decrease cervical cancers by as much as 73%. That’s about a 10% improvement over the older HPV vaccines. Researchers at Yale are calling for expanded use of the vaccine and say it will cut both the cancer rate and healthcare costs.
