Women with migraines have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes, as well as death from cardiovascular disease, according to a new study. United States and German researchers followed more than 115,000 women. They said migraines should be considered an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases.

New research from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that there is a big gap in how the U.S. estimates how many children suffer concussions. Currently, concussion cases are based on ER visits and information from schools. But the new study looked at 8,000 electronic records of pediatric concussions and found 82% of them were diagnosed by a primary care physician. 

New research has found both short and long-term exposure to some air pollutants is associated with the development of high blood pressure. The study in an American Heart Association journal looked at pollution from coal burning, vehicle exhaust and dust and dirt.
