A new study suggested vaccinating pregnant women against whooping cough is highly effective in protecting their newborns. Researchers at Kaiser Permanente found when expectant moms had Tdap vaccines, they were more than 90 percent effective in protecting infants during the first months of life.
European researchers said babies cry more in Britain, Canada, Italy, and the Netherlands than in the rest of the world. Doctors charted crying bouts during the first three months. They said parents in Denmark, Germany, and Japan experience the fewest crying and fussing babies.
Doctors in New York reported two new blood tests can reliably detect skin cancers. They hope their findings make it easier for physicians to pick up early signs of the aggressive forms of skin cancer.
