A new study has suggested that a junk food diet can cause as much kidney damage as diabetes. British doctors said lab rodents fed cheese, chocolate bars and other sweets had the same high blood sugar levels as those with type 2 diabetes.

Pregnant women who drink diet sodas daily may be more likely to have babies with weight issues. Researchers in Canada studied more than 3,000 mothers and babies. They found that women who regularly consumed artificially sweetened beverages during pregnancy were twice as likely to have a baby who was overweight by age one. 

Doctors at Georgetown University have warned that yellow fever could become the latest global health emergency. They have asked the World Health Organization to take steps against outbreaks in Africa and Latin America and have also recommended vaccine production be increased.
