A new study in the Lancet showed rare genetic mutations associated with impaired breathing muscles are more common in children who died from SIDS. These mutations are usually found in only five out of 100,000 people, but are found in four out of 278 children who die from SIDS.
Some advanced colon cancer patients may be able to receive less chemotherapy after surgery. New research in the New England Journal of Medicine showed some low risk stage three patients can do three months of chemo instead of six without affecting their risk of recurrence. Researchers said less chemo means less harmful side effects.
