A new study in Pediatrics suggested higher rates of attention deficit disorder in children whose parents take acetaminophen for long periods. Doctors in Norway found pregnant women taking it for more than three weeks were six times more likely to give birth to babies with ADHD. Fathers with long-term use before conception had twice as many children with ADHD.

The American Academy of Pediatrics highlighted the medical benefits of donating placenta from healthy newborn infants. The group said cord blood rich in stem cells should be collected in national medical banks to help treat more babies and children with fatal diseases.

Doctors in Europe said you may want to get that first colonoscopy sooner. Scientists looked at data from 6,000 procedures and said if people at average risk were first screened at age 45 instead of 50, more lives might be saved.
