Babies who had a stroke during delivery don’t usually suffer lasting side effects. Those are the results of a new study from Georgetown Medical Center which finds newborns, who suffered a stroke on the language side of the brain, regained all function using the opposite side of the brain. One in 4,000 babies experience a stroke during delivery from pressure on the brain.
A new blood and urine test could soon be used to diagnose autism. A team of British scientists found that children with autism have higher levels of damage to proteins in their blood plasma.
Some parents aren’t following national recommendations when it comes to their child’s first dental visit. According to a new poll out of the University of Michigan, only 35 percent of parents believed dentist visits should start when children are a year or younger.
