Even one e-cigarette with nicotine can lead to increased adrenaline levels in the hearts of non-smokers, according to a new study from UCLA. Previous studies linked increased adrenaline activity to increased cardiac risk. The researchers said e-cigarettes without nicotine did not have the same effect.

New research found children who have inflammatory bowel disease have a higher risk of cancer throughout their lives.  Doctors in Sweden said the increased risk is for all cancers but especially colorectal, liver, and cancer of the small intestine – but they stress the absolute risk of cancer is still low.

A study of more than 45,000 blood donors finds no major side effects associated with giving blood more frequently. Researchers from the University of Cambridge found allowing men to donate every eight weeks and women every 12 weeks had no major impact on donors’ quality of life, although some donors did report tiredness and other minor symptoms.
