New data from the national institutes of health suggested inducing labor in healthy first-time mothers after 39 weeks may help reduce the need for C-sections. Women in the study who had induced labor also had less pre-eclampsia and respiratory support needed for their newborns.

Regular exercise may help produce better outcomes for surgery patients. Doctors in Australia tracked lung cancer patients and found exercising regularly before surgery cut complication rates in half and reduced hospital stays by almost three days.
