Researchers suggested teenage hockey players who suffer concussions may need longer than three months to recover. Scientists compared brain scans of healthy players and those who had a concussion three months earlier. They found players who’d had concussions still had widespread damage to the white matter in their brains and a slight reduction in the molecules associated with metabolism.
