A new Columbia University study found age-related memory loss can be dialed back by boosting blood levels of a hormone called osteocalcin, which is produced by bone cells. Researchers tested mice and found when the hormone was raised to youthful levels, the mice performed better in memory tests.

According to a new study, those patients have a common gene variant that makes patients more likely to experience muscle pain. Researchers said genetic testing could help doctors decide if a different treatment is necessary for some patients.
Mayo Clinic researchers said women just entering menopause can get better sleep with the help of low-dose hormone therapy. Patients in the study used either oral estrogen or an estrogen patch. They experienced improved sleep over a 4-year period.
