Obesity may make asthma symptoms worse in children. Researchers in Japan looked at nearly 40,000 children who were hospitalized for the breathing condition. Those who were obese were more likely to be readmitted within a month of being discharged. They were also more likely to have longer hospital stays.
A study of headache sufferers finds patients who also had anxiety and depression had more frequent migraines. Researchers in Taiwan said poor sleep quality also contributes to increased anxiety and depression.
Some older adults are not getting to the hospital soon enough when they’re having a heart attack, according to a new Yale University study. Researchers found a delay of six or more hours was much more common in non-white communities, those with unusual symptoms, and those with heart failures.
