Women who had a false positive result on a mammogram are more likely to delay or skip their next screening, according to a new study in a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research. Researchers said women with false positives often experience emotional and physical stress.
Researchers in Sweden found a blood test could be just as accurate as a spinal fluid test when determining if a patient has Parkinson’s disease or a similar disorder. The test measures concentrations of a nerve protein in the blood, giving a more accurate diagnosis.
A new study showed how critical self-checks are when it comes to spotting recurring melanoma. Researchers found patients detected about 40 percent of cases flagging suspicious changes on their skin or symptoms including coughing blood or seizures.
