A new Canadian study suggested children who try a variety of sports are more likely to remain active throughout their teenage years. Doctors tracked more than 750 children and found samplers were more than 50 percent more likely to continue to stay active than children who didn’t participate or specialized in only one sport. 

The American Heart Association has a warning for TV watchers who won’t take occasional breaks. Doctors said the risk of blood clots in the legs, arms, pelvis and lungs rises with the amount of time sitting in front of the TV, even for those getting other physical activity. 

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania reported your likelihood of getting emergency CPR from a stranger may be better if you’re a man. Doctors looked at nearly 20,000 cardiac events and found 45 percent of men having a heart attack on the street got CPR from passersby. Only 39 percent of women received that help.
