Long-term aspirin users are less likely to develop digestive cancers. That’s the finding of a Chinese study of 600-thousand people. It also found that people following an aspirin regimen were less likely to develop gastric, pancreatic and colorectal cancers.
Fruits and vegetables containing pesticides could interfere with women undergoing infertility treatments. Researchers in Boston found produce with a high pesticide residue such as strawberries and raw spinach could make it more difficult for women undergoing treatment to get pregnant and to carry babies to term. The study said even levels permitted by the EPA may still be too high.
A nationwide study showed deaths from lupus are decreasing, but the death rate is still high. The study, appearing in the Annals of Internal Medicine, found lupus mortality is highest among women, older people, blacks and Hispanics.
