New findings from Johns Hopkins University showed doctors who prescribed large volumes of opioids are not the only drivers of the nation’s opioid epidemic. Researchers found a wide range of doctors from primary care to surgeons play a role. They also found opioid shoppers who obtain prescriptions from multiple doctors and pharmacies are not the most common users.
 
A new report from the CDC found doctors are now diagnosing HIV about seven months sooner after infection. The report also found the number of people who have the virus under control is up and annual infections are down.

People who are single for life are 42 percent more likely to develop dementia compared to people who are married according to a new study in the British Medical Journal. People who are widowed are 20 percent more likely to develop the disease. Researchers said it could be due to stress.
