A new study found women with low levels of vitamin D have a 43 percent higher risk of developing multiple sclerosis. Harvard researchers examined vitamin D levels in more than 800,000 women and found nearly 60 percent of the women who developed multiple sclerosis were vitamin D deficient.
Australian researchers said people who consume large amounts of artificial sweeteners may increase their risk of developing type two diabetes. The small study found artificial sweeteners reduced the body’s ability to control blood sugar levels. For obese people who already have type two diabetes, European researchers said six meals instead of three is better for blood sugar control.
You can’t blame your bad teeth on your genes. Maryland researchers studied nearly 500 sets of twins and said across the board, the twin who had better oral hygiene and a better diet had fewer cavities.
