The newest guidelines on screening for prostate cancer suggest you talk to your doctor first. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force updated its recommendation for men 55 to 69 years old. It said the decision on whether to screen should be an individual one, weighing the benefits against the potential harms, which could include false positives and over treatment.

A new study finds there are ways to help people with dementia live a happier life. Research in the journal Psychological Medicine studied more than 37,000 people. It said good relationships with family and friends are linked to a better quality of life. Other factors are social interaction, religious beliefs, and being able to manage every day activities. 

A drug designed for osteoporosis may have a valuable side effect. Researchers at the University of Manchester said they’ve isolated a compound that promotes human hair growth. That could lead to a treatment for men and women suffering from baldness.
