New research found pollution was linked to nine million deaths worldwide in 2015. A study in the Lancet said the fine particles in air pollution are the biggest threat. Author Philip Landrigan said those diseases include heart disease, stroke and lung cancer, and that cleaning up pollution needs to be a higher priority around the world.

Concussion laws designed to reduce traumatic brain injury among high school athletes appear to be working. A study in the American Journal of Public Health said about two years after adopting new rules, states saw a significant decline in head injuries. Still, about 670 concussions are reported in high school sports each day.

It’s possible that e-cigarettes are just as dangerous for your health as the regular ones. Research at UNC Chapel Hill said e-cigarettes may trigger damaging immune responses that can lead to lung disease.
