Fewer men are being screened, diagnosed, and treated for prostate cancer. That’s according to a new study in the journal Cancer. Researchers said it may be the case that men who are at low risk are choosing to have their cancer closely monitored, which can avoid potential harms of treatment.
Poison control centers are getting more calls about children exposed to medications to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Researchers at Nationwide Children’s Hospital found an average of about 29 poison control calls a day over 14 years related to ADHD medicications. Younger kids were more likely exposed because the medicine wasn’t stored properly, while older kids tended to have dosing errors.
In a new national poll from the University of Michigan, one in 10 parents say their child has gotten food poisoning. Parents reported restaurants as the most common source of sickness, but only a fourth of parents said they checked health inspection ratings before heading out to eat.
