A team of scientists in Berkeley, California and Toronto discovered a potential treatment for glaucoma. They’ve identified a molecule that protects nerves in the eye and can prevent damage.

Researchers are getting a better understanding of why high protein diets work. They’ve discovered an amino acid that is produced when protein is digested, which can suppress appetites. 

A virus mutation is responsible for making last year’s flu vaccine less effective. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine said the H3N2 strain left the vaccine only 20-30 percent effective. Experts still strongly recommend getting a shot every year.
