A new study found the amount of time you spend outdoors could increase your exposure to the Zika virus. Researchers said it is important to focus Zika control on recreational areas and tourist attractions and not residential neighborhoods where people spend more time inside.
Sleep disorders could lead to death in patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Researchers found a lack of sleep increased the risk of kidney failure over time. Having trouble staying asleep also increased the chances of losing kidney function.
Engineers at MIT have developed a way to deliver multiple doses of a drug long after the initial injection. The new micro-particles resemble tiny coffee cups, sealed with a lid, programmed to release a vaccine at specific times. Researchers said it could allow babies to get one injection after birth that delivers all the vaccines they need in the first one or two years.
