A South Plains family donating the gift of time to other parents at Covenant Children’s Hospital.
Brittney Rasco learned while pregnant, that her daughter would likely not survive after birth.
“She was diagnosed with a terminal condition called anencephaly, which means the lack of a brain, so basically they explained we were her lifeline and outside of my body she would not have lived for an extended period of time,” said Rasco.
“We chose to carry the baby to full term. We picked a name. we named her Brylen Danielle, she was born and she lived for 57 wonderful minutes,” said Brady Rasco.
To honor their daughter and to help other parents, the couple donated a “Cuddle Cot” to Covenant Children’s Hospital.
“If we would have had a “Cuddle Cot” we would have been able to just love on her and just be able to confirm she really was born and that life is going to change shortly, but we would have gotten that extra time,” said Brittney.
