Heartbeat: Go Red for Women’s Heart Health

“Heart disease effects everybody and anybody and at a young age,” said Tommy Parrish, Director of Covenant’s Lifestyle Center.

Tommy Parrish, Director of Covenant’s Lifestyle Center said the statistics surrounding heart disease and stroke, are scary

“On average there’s a lady that passes away each day every 80 seconds,” said Parrish. “If you look at all the cancers, combined, heart disease still kills more ladies than all the cancers.”

To raise awareness, the American Heart Association made February Heart Month. But their campaign lasts into the year, with their annual luncheon held in April. The Go Red for Women luncheon takes place on April 28th.

“To bring awareness again to women and heart disease and to help raise funds for the American Heart Association to go into research,” said Parrish
