Once again, the Lubbock Police Department would like to ask for the public’s help in identifying an abandoned newborn baby boy.

On October 3, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m., a woman discovered the newborn baby in her residential driveway in the 2600 block of 22nd Street.  The resident was walking to her vehicle and found the infant wrapped in a blanket and placed in a plastic container.  Patrol officers from the Field Services Bureau, Detectives from the Investigations Bureau along with Child Protective Services were called to the scene.

The infant appeared to be in good physical condition, and he was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. Child Protective Services took custody of the infant and he remains in their custody.
