The Humane Society of West Texas has a goal of collecting 2,500 shoes and with only 60 days to do it, they are on a mission. Adoption Coordinator, Nicole Grant, saw this as an opportunity to combine her love of the community with her passion for helping animals.
“We can work together to educate these people through the shoe drive,” Grant said. “If we can do that by getting out there and collecting shoes that’s just another way to get people to understand the importance of spaying and vetting your animals.”
Time is running out to collect shoes. The deadline is Nov. 13, to turn in all of the shoes. They have several drop off locations to make it easy for you. There is a drop off location at the PetSmart on Slide Rd., on Saturday and Sunday. You can drop shoes off at the Humane Society office and there is another location at 3618 93rd st.
