On Thursday, High Point Village held an open house for people to visit their new Enhancement Center at 6223 County Rd 6300.

High Point Village is a local nonprofit serving individuals with special needs in West Texas. The new 10,000 square foot Enrichment Center houses the organization’s daytime classes for adults along with after-school classes serving school-age children.

Marissa Trevino, the Communications Coordinator, said this is just the beginning of something great.

“This is the first building and there are many more to come. We hope to be a whole community for people with special needs. We hope they will be able to live here, work here and have everything they need right here,” Trevino said.

The building has a commercial kitchen, an art room, an administrative wing and much more.

Joshua Barnett, a Villager at High Point Village said he enjoys it here and able to make friends.

“I really do enjoy being here at the new building because it’s pretty different from the old one,” Barnett said.

The open house was followed by a ribbon cutting dedicated for United Supermarkets for designing and furnishing their commercial kitchen.
