Higher Crime Line Reward Offered for Missing Woman Case

Lubbock Police on Friday released a statement concerning Linda Gail Wilhite, 67, who was discovered missing last week. 

Police searched her home in the 6100 block of 38th Street and previously said “Officers located a significant amount of blood in one of the bedrooms.”


On Friday, police said, “We believe that Ms. Wilhite may have sustained serious injury.”

The full statement from police is as follows: 

Due to the circumstances surrounding the case, we believe that Ms. Wilhite may have sustained serious injury. Additionally, the lack of cooperation by certain family members at this point of the investigation has resulted in the need for community assistance. Two thousand dollars ($2,000) of Crime Line money has been approved for information that leads to the recovery of Ms. Wilhite.
