Holloman Air Force Base near Alamogordo has confirmed that they will provide 400 temporary shelter beds for unaccompanied immigrant children currently being cared for by the U.S. Health and Human Services Department.
Those children could begin to arrive by the end of this month.
Officials said these children will not attend local schools, and are expected to spend a little more than a month at the shelter.
They are expected to be under the care of Health and Human Services at all times.
