Vincent Reyes, 42, was sentenced on Friday to two years in federal prison for “Transportation of Illegal Aliens for Private Financial Gain.”
Reyes was caught by Muleshoe police during a routine traffic stop. An officer found seven passengers in the van he was driving. All seven, including two unaccompanied minors, were in the country illegally according to court records.
Court records said, “Reyes was transporting the seven people from Houston, Texas to California so they could find work.”
Reyes was listed as homeless in online records for the Lubbock County Detention Center.
