EMS and Lubbock Police were called to the Ulofts Apartments, 1001 University Avenue, just before 10:00 a.m. Friday for the report of a dead body.
Police Officers were seen inside at one specific window, and officers were seen on the roof. Lieutenant Ray Mendoza said a Texas Tech student, age 22, was found dead on the floor of his apartment. There were no signs of a struggle, he said.
Late in the day Friday police released the name as Kasey Calaway. The cause of death was not known but foul play was not suspected, nor was suicide.
Mendoza described the case as a death investigation. He said no one had yet been located who had seen the man alive Thursday.
Mendoza said police would like to ask for people to come forward who had recently seen Calway alive.
The Ulofts Apartments serve as housing for Texas Tech students.
