The City of Lubbock will hold a public presentation Thursday concerning the proposed renovations of Citizens Tower.
The city purchased Citizens Tower, formerly known as the Omni Building, 1208 14th Street, for more than $1 million in late 2014.
According to one proposal, the city would spend $49 million to renovate Citizens Tower for use as a new City Hall. The current City Hall would then be renovated for use as the police department at an estimated cost of $18 million.
On Thursday there will be a presentation and discussion by the Perkins & Will architectural firm on the design process and the renovations. The City Council agenda said the presentation will be 1:30 pm.
The council has already approved $4 million for architectural services which will be above and beyond the other cots.
