Justin Smith, Lubbock Professional Fireman, and Taysha Williams, Area Director for MDA, are here to tell us all about the Fill the Boot event.
Firefighters will collecting donations on busy intersections. Don’t worry, the firemen will be at the same intersections as last year so they will be easy to find.
The last two years over $100,000 was raised and it would be quite the accomplishment to keep that streak going.
Another event is the Homes for Heros and other groups that will be cooking lunch from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The lunch is free but donations would be greatly appreciated.
Some funding will go towards helping kids go to summer camps and have a great experience.
