Musician Josh Abbott, of Idalou, known for his group Josh Abbott Band, announced Friday night that his father, Charles, died on March 2, 2017.
“It is with a deep sense of sadness I post this,” Abbott said in a Facebook post. “Last night, my father went to be with the Lord.”
“I know he’s in a better place but I will truly miss him so much,” Abbott said. “I will miss our talks, our hunts, and our hugs. Our little family is crushed right now. Please pray for my mother’s peace of mind and strength to endure this. Thank you all for the thoughts, posts, and prayers over the last 3 weeks.”
The band canceled several shows last week “due to the decline in health conditions after a stroke had by Josh Abbott’s father,” according to the band’s website. The site said Charles Abbott had a stroke in early February.
