Joyland Amusement Park was closed Friday after being flooded Thursday from the rain.
The owner, David Dean, said he hopes they can get everything cleaned up, safety tested, and ready to go for Friday, June 5th.
“It was a pretty bad flood for us, probably as bad a flood as we’d ever had. We had some areas of the park that were 42 inches underwater, so we have a big clean up job,” Dean said.
He said this is the third time the park was flooded this spring.
“We’re just kind of on a big halt right now until we get it cleaned up, get everything checked out, and back to good shape again,” Dean said.
“We’ve called in a lot of extra people. Obviously there’s, we’re washing the mud off of things, we’re checking equipment out and take motors apart, get the water, the moisture, the mud out of the motors, check gear boxes, change the oil,” Dean said.
