The Junior League of Lubbock wrapped up a week-long friendly “food fight” of sorts to benefit the South Plains Food Bank Saturday.

The Junior League Food Food Fight Competition Food Drive kicked off back on Sunday, February 26.

The friendly competition benefits local food banks and hunger programs in the communities of each participating Junior League.

This year’s competitors joining the Junior League of Lubbock in the Food Fight were: Junior League of Odessa, Junior League of Wichita Falls, Junior League of San Angelo, Junior League of Waco, Junior League of Bell County, Junior League of Bryan/College Station and the Junior League of Lawton, Oklahoma.

A donation round-up and weigh-in celebration was held locally Saturday morning at the Junior League of Lubbock headquarters.

The Junior League that weighed in the most poundage in food donations won bragging rights for the year.

There are no losers as the joint effort is sure to deliver positive community impact in every community.
