TODAY: Wind Advisory for Lubbock this afternoon beginning at 1PM until 9PM along with a Fire Weather Watch. The winds will gust at times this afternoon anywhere from 40-50 mph resulting in an elevated fire danger and patchy blowing dust. By the evening hours, storms will begin to develop along the dry line. Between 7PM-10PM these storms will gain strength and track east through Lubbock County. There is the potential that some of these storms will become severe and produce large hail and wind gusts up to 65 mph.
TONIGHT: The strong line of storms will push east of the South Plains by 1AM and drier air will begin to settle in behind a cold front. It is still going to be gusty at times overnight as winds shift out of the northwest behind the front.
TOMORROW: Winds sticking with us tomorrow with gusts at times over 50 mph resulting in blowing dust by the afternoon. Fire weather danger will also be a concern with the strong winds and drier conditions. Please avoid outdoor burning for the next two days.
