TODAY: This morning we’re dealing with strong storms moving through the South Plains producing heavy rainfall as well as lightning. Most of these storms should begin to lose steam by the lunch time hour. Cloudy skies sticking with us also with a few breaks by the later afternoon hours. However, thanks to these morning storms and cloud cover it seems like the atmosphere may be too stable for scattered storms to develop during the later portion of the day. Also keep in mind that we are all under a marginal risk for severe weather, so any storms that continue to develop could produce gusty winds, small hail, and heavy rain. High temperatures will yet again be in the low to mid 80s.
TONIGHT: Although we won’t see quite as much activity this evening before sunset, chances are looking favorable for storm development overnight. A few of these storms could produce gusty winds as well as heavy rainfall. Low temperatures will drop into the mid 60s overnight.
TOMORROW: Unlike today, most of the storms overnight should push through our area and dissipate tomorrow morning when everyone is heading out the door. We should see more sunshine by the afternoon tomorrow, which will help lead to scattered storm development during the late afternoon/evening hours.
Have a great day!
