TODAY: Strong storms overnight and a few lingering storms this morning, but they will continue to dissipate. By lunch time we’ll see more breaks in the clouds with sunshine, which will enhance our storm chances heading into later today. By the early evening hours storms will begin to develop throughout the South Plains and an isolated few of these storms have the potential to become severe. If you’re heading to Friday night football be sure to stay weather aware, because some storms could produce heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail.
TONIGHT: We’re expecting more storms to push through during the overnight hours and the threat remains that some storms could turn severe. Cloudy skies sticking with us as well with temperatures in the low to mid 60s.
TOMORROW: A few lingering storms tomorrow morning, but overall just cloudy skies. By the afternoon we’ll see more breaks in the clouds and sunshine, just like today. However, more scattered storms are in the forecast during the late afternoon and through the night. These storms could potentially impact the Texas Tech game, so just remember to keep an eye to the sky over the next couple of days! Quieter conditions will settle into our area heading into Sunday and early next week.
Enjoy your weekend!
