The aliens have arrived… again. 40 years after the original release, Close Encounters of the Third Kind returns to Lubbock theaters (yes, 40 years). Co-written and directed by Steven Spielberg, this now-classic tells the story of a man who is strangely drawn to a remote location after a strange experience. Once he gets there, something spectacular happens. It’s still rated PG and runs a little longer than two hours. Have a close encounter of the 40th kind at the Alamo Drafthouse or Tinseltown.
And not this weekend, but next weekend, the 9th and 10, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals wraps Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It’s a classic, set on the Oregon Trail in the 1850’s. Get your tickets to last two 8:00 shows through Select-a-Seat. Again, that’s not this weekend but next, the 9th and 10th.
And also next weekend, another classic film returns. Stephen King will scare you to death again.
