A Lubbock mother is doing what she can to find the criminals responsible for shooting her son earlier this week outside their apartment in West Lubbock.
Fabian Servin is going to recover, but this family isn’t just facing a police investigation, they’re at risk of being evicted.
According to the Servin family, after the incident happened, their landlord is evicting them because of the shooting. The family was shocked since they said the shooting was completely random and they’ve never been a part of any illegal activity.
Police said the shooting happened just after midnight in the very early morning hours of Tuesday.
According to family, they said Fabian Servin, 20, was on his way home from the movies. When he got out of his car, he was shot at several times and the suspect drove away in a car. Servin was shot twice and is now recovering in the hospital.
“I was like, ‘Oh my god, what happened,’ I said ‘what happened’ and he said ‘I don’t know, mom,'” said Kimberly Servin, Fabian’s mom.
Kimberly Servin said she has no idea who would want to hurt her son, or harm their family.
“He’s not affiliated with anybody, he doesn’t gang bang,” Kimberly Servin said. “He skateboards, he has a skateboard in his car. He works and he comes home to my grandson.”
According to public records, Fabian Servin does not have a criminal record.
“I didn’t know what to do, that’s my child, you know?” she said.
Fabian was shot outside his grandmother’s apartment. After the shooting, his grandmother said she received notice she was being evicted.
“He told me he was going to give me a three day notice,” said Evangelina Servin, Fabian’s grandmother. “I still don’t know why.”
We talked with the property managers and employees at a different leasing office owned by the same person who said they did not have a comment.
“We’ve been here four years, no problem at all,” Kimberly Servin said. “It’s not right to do something like that, kick us out for something that randomly happened. They made it seem like it was our fault, it wasn’t our fault.”
