For now, the family is just glad to have Jayden’s body back in Lubbock and are preparing for his upcoming funeral. Bringing his body back and the funeral all together cost $3,000. It was money the family didn’t have, so they asked for the public help and the public responded.
All day on Friday, the Chapel of Grace Funeral Home has been busy taking donations from strangers to help with these

costs.
“It was a big surprise this morning when we found out how much money had been donated,” said Juana Zavala, Jayden’s aunt. “A lot of donations are coming, and they’re really helping us. We just want to thank the community.”
So far, the family has received several hundred dollars in donations. The funeral home said with this money, the family will be able to give Jayden a proper funeral with flowers, a church ceremony and a headstone.
“It means a lot for us. We want this baby to lay at rest and be peaceful in heaven,” Zavala said.
If you’d like to donate, you can drop off donations at the Chapel of Grace Funeral Home. The address is 1928 34th Street.
