The City of Lubbock is busy preparing the roads and rest of Lubbock to keep you safe in case the winter storm projected for Friday night turns severe.
The streets department spent all week gassing up their trucks, loading them with their and sand mixture and getting them ready for the roads.
Other crews working to get the city prepared are the water and electric department to prevent pipes from bursting and electric lines from freezing. Street crews will work 12 hours shifts and start putting the salt on the road at midnight on Friday night.
