Lubbock Fire Rescue was called to a fire in a home around 4:35 a.m. Thursday near 24th Street and Avenue U.
Lubbock Fire said the home was abandoned and no one was injured.
Firefighters said when they arrived Thursday morning, they found a fire in the back bedroom.
The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to figure out the cause of the fire. Lubbock Fire said the fire is classified now as undetermined and it is being investigating it as arson.
According to the Lubbock Fire Department, most of the damage from the fire is in the add on at the back of the house. The rest of the house has smoke damage.
